Scholastic: election 2020
In anticipation of the 2020 presidential election, we created an interactive learning experience for students of all grade levels. The program provides an understanding of the electoral process and current social issues, as well as education on past presidents, and includes enjoyable quizzes to test knowledge. The website features multiple illustrations commissioned for the project and was designed with accessibility in mind, making it compliant with various disabilities.
As the UI designer, I played a critical role in designing the UI kit, which included typography, color palette, grid, iconography, and design components. I also provided art direction, commissioning artists to design illustrations for the presidential candidates, past presidents, hero spaces, and iconography. In addition, I developed interactive states for image rollovers, CTAs, quiz module interactivity, and voting modules.
One of the website's standout features was a celebratory animation that played when students cast their votes, which I storyboarded and designed. Throughout the project, I worked closely with various teams, including product managers, UX designers, engineers, business units, and copywriters to ensure seamless collaboration and delivery of a high-quality product.
